Open House and Ann Kok Social Justice Award Presentation
Tuesday, May 22nd 2012, 11-2pm
Door County is invited to our open house for food and refreshments at HELP in Sturgeon Bay.
The presentation of the Ann Kok Social Justice Award will take place at 1:00pm.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Unresolved trauma can manifest in many ways, including anxiety disorders, panic attacks, intrusive memories (flaskbacks), obessive-compulsive behaviors, Post-Taumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addictions, self injury, and a variety of physical symptoms. If you or someone you know has been experiencing trauma due to interpersonal violence such as abuse or bullying or childhood trauma, contact a HELP of Door County, Inc. advocate at (920) 743-8785.

Father’s Group-
- Have the chance to spend time with his child in a group setting
- Be presented with an educational parenting topic and learn parenting skills
- Form support systems and discuss parenting with other fathers
March 22nd and then every other Thursday from 5:30-7:30

Services in brief: Domestic Abuse Victims’ Services – legal advocacy (restraining order support, custody advocacy, and court process information), support group, safe homes, 24-hour domestic abuse hotline Older Adult Services – outreach, community connection, vulnerable adults, Learning in Retirement, Senior Center Youth Services – direct support, group support, advocacy, outreach, youth-serving organizations and school connections Visitation and Exchange – monitored exchanges keep children out of a volatile situation with feuding parents - or- supervised visits that allow non-custodial parents to maintain a relationship while court-ordered investigations occur or out of house placements have been determined. -------------------------------
